Just a handful of solid links this week, including earbud info, ruining a marathon and some mma goodness.
In Here

I personally liked the courtship and dating ideas from last Friday's Caboose. I'd love to hear if anyone took me up on the ideas, and how it went. We also published good advice from Paul Stofko on how to stick with your fitness program. It reads for beginners, but I think there's kernels of wisdom in there that everybody can use.
Out There
- This Man Runs: Running, the iPod, and Hearing Loss
An informative and insightful post on earbud choices for athletes. This topic deserves elaboration and more research on my part—something I hope to do in a future post. A truly worthwhile read for anyone that runs with headphones.
- I'm Training To Ruin A Marathon | The Onion - America's Finest News Source
It takes discipline, hard work and months of training to ruin a marathon.
- Summer 2008 Running Shoe Guide from Runner's World.com
A detailed round-up of 2008 running shoes by Runner's World. Tons o' info here if you're in the market (who isn't?).
- The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale - Burkman vs Hazelett — UFC Video Center
The UFC was nice enough to post the video of this undercard fight that didn't air during their The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale event—something they don't normally do for free. Too bad it didn't air; it's a great fight with good stand-up, some brutal elbows and some truly fantastic jiu jitsu. Check it out if you're a fan, or even if you're new to the sport and want to get an idea what it's about.
Photo courtesy of... well, we *wish* we knew who created this lolcat gem. But it just showed up in our inbox, un-cited.
