This week's links: a whole lot of runner's blogs, half-marathon training info and an article suggesting shoes are indeed evil.
Ridiculously charming runner’s blog from a woman who hopes to run 2 halfs and a full marathon in 2008. Good reading.
Some researchers are contending that shoes are fundamentally bad for our feet, and that it’s impossible for us to walk with a natural gait while wearing them. Dubious, but very interesting.
Hal Higdon is a very well known running and training expert. This page offers various 12 week half-marathon training plans for runners of different experience levels.
Runner/blogger who’s presently sidelined (sort of) by a knee injury. Ugh.
Very inspiring—a guy who started off at 351lbs and is looking to leave the 2 buck club (200lbs) as well as run a marathon.
“...Our passion for running is natural…our survival once depended on endurance running…” I like the idea that, as our office careers abstract us further from our physical selves, we find exercise replacements to satisfy our biological needs.
Maddy’s running blog—cool stuff, a lot of personality.
Blogger and podcaster training for half and full marathons who ended her first post with “So bring it on! I’m not scared of 13.1 miles. They will, however, be scared of me.” Gotta love that.
Awesome running blog/podcast idea: “Every week, they record themselves on a short run somewhere in New England (mostly), they talk about their training, play some music, and have a few laughs.” One’s an experienced marathoner, the other’s a beginner.
Runner and podcaster working to stay on track when work starts slurping up more hours than it should.
A runner is getting back on the horse after a 6 year (and 50 pound) layoff. He’s training for an initial marathon, then another marathon 2 months later with a better time. He’s also smart enough to know not to push it too hard to soon. Very smart stuff.
Runner, tech guy, Running Is Therapy’s subtitle is “...and so is therapy”. Entertaining stuff, a running log interspersed with unix commands and C#.
Personal/training blog of 2 folks in Tennessee (and their dog Pippin). Pippin also has a blog, but that’s besides the point. Fun stuff.
I really like this post. It’s in essence about appreciating your accomplishments and achievements. “Race and train smart and appreciate your support system. ...When you do accomplish your mission, look back at the journey and see how far you’ve come.”
Runner’s blog and podcast from the UK.
Fantastic blog by a type-1 diabetic runner sharing his experience and knowledge about what it’s like to be an endurance sports athlete and diabetic. A lot of information on both fronts.
Number 13: “If it was easy, everybody would be a runner.” This ugly little page has a lot of wisdom packed into it—sounds like it was gathered from many people that have run many many miles.
Wow. ~nattie~ at ultrachick.blogspot.com is not only an ultrarunner and bigtime music fan (see Steve Vai tatt on shoulder), she successfully rigs her electronics when they fail. Now tell me that isn’t cool.
Let's keep it polite and on topic.
A lot of specialists say that credit loans aid people to live their own way, because they can feel free to buy needed goods. Moreover, various banks offer collateral loan for young and old people.
