It's the weekend. It's July. Let's go to the beach.
Ahhhhhhhhhh...
How was your week? If you live near a large body of water, I'm thinking this is a good weekend to hit the beach. If you don't, I'm not sure what to tell you. Hit the pool? Run through the sprinkler? Maybe construct your very own giant, profoundly dangerous, spine-busting backyard slip-and-slide?
For the Beach
Reaching back into the memory banks for songs I associate with beach and vacations, here's a small grab bag of music to bring to la playa:

A child of the 70s, the first few songs in the list were in heavy radio rotation when I was a sprout. I distinctly remember Steve Miller's Abracadabra played every 3rd song on FM during one family vacation. And can you have the beach without Dick Dale? Then answer is "Yes". But still, there's more to Dick Dale than Quinton Tarantino would lead you to believe.
Now, if you gotta bring your box to the beach, enjoy yourself, but please keep your neighbors in mind. It's fun to blast your own music, but try not to be That Guy. It's the right thing to do, and a tasty way to do it.
Relax, enjoy yourself, recharge your batteries and have a great weekend!
