This week we're highlighting The E-Mics, a band I first heard in The Elbo Room in Chicago. They had a standing Monday night gig, and were utterly amazing. Wes Cichosz, the male singer and primary guitar player, is just a phenomenal musician (and, for the record, a really great guy). He played saxophone in a band called Swimmer, and surprised everyone one night by stepping in on guitar when the regularly player missed the gig. Amazing, amazing player. I have a special fondness for Wes's music, since a variation on his core band came out and played at our wedding. Not your usual wedding band, for sure.
Relax, enjoy yourself, recharge your batteries and have a great weekend!
